Debossed concrete type on the Bar des Touristes

Superb debossed cast concrete type on the facade of this microscopic disaffected bar. 1950's I would estimate but with a distinctly art deco feel - short top bar on the E and geometric B, R & S. Thiviers 24.

Joe mobile review - full article

Original car park facade sign

Great facade 'accident' on the Cours Victor Hugo car park building in Bordeaux. The racing green Jaguar Mark II hangs precariously balanced in space over the street. No need for a big blue P here.

Blue and white mosaic tile typography

Superb typography and facia signage in Bordeaux. The combination of the mosaic tile sans serif caps in blue on white with the cursive script in white on dark field is excellent. The metro style tiling adds to the art deco feel.

AA joins BA & AF with a red swoosh

American Airways is the latest airline, this month, to launch a red swoosh brand. Following on the groundbreaking British Airways ribbon by Newell & Sorrell 1997, then the Air France accent by Desgrippes Brandimage in 1999, we now have the red eagle, A or star by Futurebrand 2013.
The jury here is still out on its success. OK, but innovative?

Easier to buy a machine gun than a French cheese in the USA

Unpasteurized milk cheeses that are matured less than 60 days are illegal in the USA. Machine guns are no problem. This graphic highlights the situation and supports Obama's gun control legislation, following Sandy Hook.
